STONE: Light, Shadows and Acoustics

In this study I explore whether the porous quality of sandstone combined with rich yet automated ornamentation could improve the acoustics of a room. The ceiling is composed of thin marble plates, allowing light to both reflect and diffuse, creating an ethereal atmosphere. The result is a library in which distinct areas are defined by varying qualities of light and sound.
